Dr. Mandy Irvin has a little different story than most. Mandy grew up in rural Southwest Georgia on a peanut and cotton farm that is still owned and operated by her family. With a degree in fashion merchandising from the University of Georgia, she started out in the fashion industry in New York City working for Ralph Lauren as a fabric manager. After 5 years with Ralph Lauren, she decided to return to school to pursue a doctorate in pharmacy.
She received her biology degree from NJCU in Jersey City, NJ, then moved to South University School of Pharmacy to pursue her doctorate of pharmacy in historic Savannah, GA. During pharmacy school she was an active member of many student organizations, including Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity. During her time at South University, she was able to start an ovarian cancer walk in honor of her aunt, an ovarian cancer survivor.
Mandy was one of the first community pharmacy residents at Rx Clinic Pharmacy in 2016 through UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. She is currently providing clinical services through a collaborative practice agreement with Ballantyne Family Medicine.
In Dr. Irvin’s spare time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, spoiling her cocker spaniel Lizzie Bennet, trying new restaurants in the Queen City and traveling. She has a favorite scripture that she likes to quote: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.” Deuteronomy 6:5
